Quick answer
The short version
Upload the PDFs to Merge PDF, arrange them in the exact order they should appear, remove any accidental selection and run the merge. Download the combined file, confirm its page count and inspect every transition between source documents. The output follows the file order shown in the interface.
Merge PDFStep-by-step
A reliable workflow
- 01
Rename source files clearly and decide the final sequence.
- 02
Open Merge PDF and add up to the displayed file-count and size limits.
- 03
Use the Move up and Move down controls to set the order without relying on dragging.
- 04
Merge the files and download the combined PDF.
- 05
Check the page count, transitions, orientation and bookmarks you rely on.
Prepare a reliable merge order
A descriptive source filename makes ordering easier, but it does not appear automatically as a divider in the merged PDF. Put cover sheets and instructions in the correct position before processing.
The interface reports file count and total selected size. Remove duplicate selections before merging and keep a list of the expected source documents when completeness matters.
Review the combined document
Open the result rather than assuming a successful download means the document is ready. Check the first and last page of every source file, particularly where portrait and landscape documents meet.
- Confirm the total page count matches the sum of the sources.
- Check forms and links if they are important to the workflow.
- Compress only after merging so you review one final output.
Before you continue
Limitations
- Merging does not automatically create section dividers or a table of contents.
- Some advanced bookmarks, forms or portfolio features may not survive every workflow.
- Encrypted PDFs may require their passwords to be removed before merging.
Questions
Troubleshooting and common questions
Does merge order follow filenames?
No. The output follows the order displayed in the Merge PDF interface, which you can change before processing.
Can I merge files with different page sizes?
Yes, but the output can contain mixed dimensions and orientations. Review page transitions before sharing it.
